International participants are reminded that most visitors to the United States are required to have a visa prior to travelling to the country. It is very important that you apply for a visa far in advance of the symposium in order to secure entry to the U.S.
Letters of invitation will only be issued to participants who have paid the conference registration fees. Once registration is complete and payment issued, please email Enelda Butler (email@example.com) to request a letter. Please include your full name as it appears on your passport, the organization you are representing and your position in the organization. It is the responsibility of the conference attendee to send letters to the Embassy or U.S. Consulate.
For specific information about applying for a visa and travel to the U.S., visit the U.S. Department of the State’s website on visas at: www.travel.state.gov/visa.
The Water Institute at UNC encourages you to process any required visa documents well in advance of the conference date. The U.S. Department of State may require a personal interview in order to apply for a visa. It will also be necessary to confirm that your current passport meets new guidelines. The Water Institute at UNC will issue refunds up until the registration cutoff date. Please address these issues as far in advance as possible in order to ensure an easy entry to the United States.
